A member asked:

I have read that losartan has significant anti platelet and anticoagulant properties. is this accurate and would it be helpful for stroke prevention in afib patients?

Losartan is not prescribed as an anticoagulant. Please dont read or go by what you 'read' especially on the internet- always ask your MD

Losartan is an excellent anti-hypertensive, and does help prevent strokes, BUT is neither an anticoagulant, nor does it possess specific anti platelet qualities.
