A member asked:

I take low-dose (81)asa for afib in am on empty stomach w/warm water per dr. is it better to take at night and/or full stomach for stroke prevention?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

ASA for AF: ASA 81 mg can be taken any time of the day after meals. However it will not prevent thromboembolic stroke from AF. Other medications, such as warfarin or newer oral anticoagulants(blood thinners) are used to prevent a stroke from AF.
