SGOT and SGPT in fatty liver or non alcoholic hepatosteatosis (NASH) can be 1 to 4 x normal . However, it is important to rule out other causes of elevated liver enzyme’s before you can diagnosis fatty liver. It is important that this be evaluated by a hepatologist and should be taken seriously.

Mildly elevated in general. A careful review of drugs and supplements taken may help in identifying culprits in causing similar changes. Alcohol should be also discontinued at least couple of weeks before testing.
