The lump is most probably a lymph node, which enlarges when there is an infection. This would explain why it shrinks when you are being treated with antibiotics. Local enlarged lymph nodes indicate an infection in that area of the body. If it is by your neck/jaw/cheek region, then the infection can be related to teeth, throat, ear or sinuses. Talk to your Dr for further exam.

If you have a bacterial infection, antibiotic taken exactly as prescribed until all pills are taken may cure. Sometimes a second full course of medication is required. But there may be other reason(s) for swelling, such as stone in Parotid Gland's duct. Please see a specialist Oral Surgeon.
