I think your question is about the treatment for diverticulitis. If you think the symptoms of diverticulitis have improved and you have side effects of either antibiotic(s), you can stop both. If the symptoms do not improve and you think the current regimen is not effective, augmentin should be changed. Both should be changed if you are unsure about the effectiveness or med intolerance.
