Metoprolol succinate er. ive been taking half of a 25mg pill. i was told is ok to split. im going to talk to doc about going off. i tried before and had bad rebound htn, heart rate. my ? is if i can cut this once why cant i cut it again to 6.25mg?

Metoprolol succinate ER is one of the few extended release medications that doesn't lose efficacy when cut in half because of its micro capsule formulation. However it loses efficacy if you do cut it into quarters. 6.25 mgs is such a tiny dose but it may.provide some tapering effect for you,however.
