Antibiotics will not cure an infected tooth, but will limit spread of infection and increase success of additional treatment. Advanced infection usually presages root canal treatment/crown or extraction/implant/crown. Antibiotics alter the bacterial balance in your GI system. Call your prescribing Dentist, report your discomfort, and ask, "what's next?"
