If it is clear that you had no other predisposing factors to venous thrombosis such as famlly history of coagulopathies, , then recommended duration of anticoagulant treatment varies between 3 to 6 months. At this time I feel there is no right or wrong answer. It's a decision made between you and your prescribing physician.

The studies are ongoing related to COVID 19 and PE. Six months is one option and the course may be decreased after assessment at three months by your Pulmonologist. Watch for signs of shortness of breath and chest pain. It is encouraging that you have normal respiratory effort. Are you able to exercise without difficulty?
