Most drugs in children are prescribed based on weight or body surface area. Perhaps he is a "big" boy and 50 is OK. Discuss with his Drs and caregivers. He may be taking other meds that affect how is body metabolizes the 50 mg. Go to Drugs.com and look up this and enter all meds he is taking into their drug interaction checked. Then show to caregiver and ask them to share with his Dr.
