A member asked:

Can naltrexone help autism? low dose only, or a dose like they give heroin addicts?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

There have been a few clinical trials of naltrexone in a low dose in children with autism , which did show improvement in behaviour and social skills , but not much on learning . It is still not commonly used for this as we need more studies to evaluate the long term benefits and risks , though so far the main side effect has been increased sedation.
