A member asked:

My brother went to the doctors a few weeks ago and they said his bone age is 18. does that mean they are fused? can he take hgh to help him grow taller? hes 52. he turns 17 in april this year?

A bone age of 18 correlates with fusion of the growth centers in the long bones. If that is the case, neither HGH or any other drug/exercise/diet or other intervention can add height. Clarify the test results with his doc.

A male fuses at 18 their radius ,ulnar and phalanges bones, a female at 17. His bone age is normal for him by way of genetics .No growth hormone will help. I have been doing bone age for the US. GOVT. for 25 years and know all about age determination.
