This can happen due to muscle pull or sprain. If you are uncomfortable, take Tylenol and see if it resolves the pain/discomfort. If the pain persists for more than 2-3 weeks or if it is getting worse despite taking Tylenol, then you should have a medical check up with your family doctor. He may do a chest X-ray as a simple first test.
