Yes: Stretching, massage, physical therapy to strengthen the area of your back and shoulder region to prevent this. Ice a great anti inflamm as well.

Consider PT: Nsaids (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) are excellent first choices for shoulder strains and can sometimes be taken at doses much higher than the over the counter recommendation with the guidance of your doctor. Sometimes it takes a week or two to get better. Physical therapy (pt) would also be an excellent choice and is very good for shoulders. Your doctor can help with a referral.
