A member asked:

There's an article online reviewed by a md that says " migraines can cause lesions, which are areas of damage to the brain." whereas there's a doctor opinion that say t2 lesions caused by migraine are not brain damage. appreciate explanation?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

If migraine were to cause a stroke, you bet it would be "brain damage", but the usual MRI lesions are NOT permanent damage and are of no more consequence than lesions seen in smoking, or aging. A lot of articles are opinions, or even frankly BOGUS. Hopefully, we at HT have done our homework and quote legitimate studies.
