Hi just started having heartburn 2 weeks ago and also having loose stools & diarrhea. doctor put me on protonix 2days ago.will the protinix help with diarrhea? should i take kaopectate or imodium? history of gerd 15 yrs ago?

Protonix has no effect on your diarrhea. You did not state if you have had diarrhea at the same time with the heart burn 2 weeks ago or the diarrhea is new. If the diarrhea is new, you can take either Kaopectate or Imodium for reducing the frequency. If heart burn and diarrhea occurred at the same time, recurrent GERD is not the right diagnosis.
