They can be taken same time or separate. The antibiotic is to be taken at fixed times 8am and 8pm for example, while acetaminophen/codeine is to be taken as needed for intolerable symptoms such as pain or cough, their use should be limited at a minimum. Antibiotics should be taken completing the course as prescribed.
