I am hiv +, undetect, cd4 865, i also have genital herpes but take valtrex for it. i had a root canal done and developed sinus infect, bronchitis. taking 1 week now bactrim, (sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim) clyndamicyn, poor recovery.

Please see your Dr.: You should be examined by your infectious disease doctor as soon as possible to see if something is going on with your immune system and possibly to repeat lab work for t cell counts.

Immunosuppressed: Your recovery may be hampered by some of the medications you take as well as some of your other medical conditions. You should see an infectious disease specialist to ascertain you are taking the proper medications given your complex medical history.

Return to DDS: It sounds like you are having a hard time with this infection. I suggest you return to your dds and have him consult with your md. The current infection may or may not be related to the previous root canal treatment. The antibiotic may not be specific to the bacteria causing the infection. The complexity of your case requires more information. I suggest you return to your doctors. Good luck -.
