Good evening doctors. what are the differentiating symptoms of fecal impaction and of bowel obstruction and how do these come into play with constipation? i have not had a bowel movement in the last four days, but i do not feel sick?

In fecal impaction there is the urge to go every few minutes small bits of stool may come out and a rectal exam shos a large lump of stool. Int.Obs. -No gas or stool is passed, abd. distention, pain & nausea and vomiting. Constipation is infrequent passage of stool, incomplete emptying and can be helped with laxatives etc. Try taking a strong laxative, and see your MD for proper regularization
