IBS: Should only be a diagnosis of exclusion. That is to say it should be diagnosed after all other more serious causes of your symptoms are ruled out and that may entail a complete upper endoscopy and colonoscopy and other appropriate testing based on your symptoms.

NO if you have IBS: If you have ibs it is an ibs not a cancer .You need to see your doctor to check you do all investigations , and go for follow up visits then you don't have to worry what you read is not on you.
