I have been diagnosed with ibs, but i'm concerned about colon cancer which seems to have similar symptoms. what's the best way to distinguish the symptoms, and particularly the type of pain?

See answer: FIRST OFF, IF YOU ARE IN YOUR 20'S OR 30'S COLON CA IS UNCOMMON. The incidence increases with age. Colon cancer has NO symptoms in it's early phase. Cancer of the right colon presents with anemia, changes in BM or pain are a very late sign.
