A systemic infection (viral or bacterial) may disturb the glycemic control. If you take sugar contained cough syrup, blood sugar will go up as well. You should check blood sugar before dinner and bedtime today and then discuss with your doctor tomorrow for an appropriate advice especially if your sugar before lunch is also low.
