I was very nervous and stressed while my blood test in er for left shoulder pain wbc 11.28 (uln 11.0) neuts 7.54(uln 7.0) could these slightly increased numbers based on my stress? my doctor does not see a problem. thanks?

Stress triggers a natural output of stress hormones in the blood.These can double the white blood count during the period the stress is ongoing by mobilizing cells that are usually out of sight. When the number increases but the percentage of mature cells remain normal, we accept it as a simple stress response.If the increase includes many immature/juvenile cells we would not consider it normal.

As I addressed previously, if there has not been a change in your counts, your WBC is not a reason for concern.
