You have infectious enterocolitis and blood can mixed with mucus in diarrheal stool and that is not uncommon. It can be caused by viral or bacterial infection. The condition is usually limited and resolving in 3-5 days. If you have high fever and symptoms get worse after 3 days, oral antibiotic may be indicated, especially if you were traveling recently.

No. Neither diarrhea nor blood in stool is normal. You may take Pepto-Bismol or Imodium for the diarrhea. Drink enough water so that your urine is mostly colorless. If it does not resolve the issue in 1-2 days, you may need to see a doctor for evaluation.
