Irritable bowel syndrome can cause the symptoms you describe. The blood you describe may be from hemorrhoids but the GI doctor can make sure that is the etiology. Definitely see the GI doctor for diagnosis/treatment. Try to increase your hydration and fiber intake and see if this helps your symptoms. Best of luck to you!

Notify Pediatrician: May try nasal saline solution to clean the nasal passages and make him/ her breath humidified air. Avoid aspirin. Notify the pediatrician office so he/ she be examined. If bleeding is too much take him to the emergency room.

See doctor...: The possible etiologies for your symptoms include post-nasal drip and other sinus conditions as well as a throat problem, including infection. You need to be evaluated because blood in your mucous could be a sign of a serious disorder, including malignancy, although most of the time it is benign. See your doctor asap!

Yes.: Whether it's bronchopneumonia or bronchiolitis or whooping cough, a 4 week old has a very naive immune system and can get very sick very quickly. Close follow-up and aggressive treatment may be necessary.
