Tooth abscess may be caused by different bacteria than strep A but if you are a strep A carrier you may have recurring strep throat when your body is weakened by a tooth abscess. Fortunately, most of the time antibiotic for tooth abscess is also effective for strep A.

Probably not, but why would you want to live with either virulent infection? Please see your General Physician or an Ear/Nose/Throat specialist Otolaryngologist to resolve your chronic throat infection. Please see your General Dentist or a root canal specialist Endodontist to resolve your dental infection.
