Allegra is an allergy medication you can safely take indefinitely. Medrol is a steroid that should only be taken for a specific interval as defined and monitored by the physician who knows your case. Indefinite use of Medrol can lead to significant complications.

Allergic asthma may require the use of a bronchodilator to control respiratory symptoms. After the Medrol is discontinued, discuss additional controller inhaled medication with your physician. Avoid smoke and allergic triggers. The medication may be administered together. A virtual consult with Healthtap is available.

In addition to the advice by Drs. F and D, your doctor should try to discern the item you may be allergic to and try to desensitize you to that substance.
