I have chronic constipation, and inactive ulcerative colitis. i take mirolax daily. if i stop, i become constipated, even with one dose, but i'm having awful mushy leaky bowels many times a day, and i don't know how to control it?

I would suggest combining stool softener with half dose of miralax daily as a trial or you only take miralax, every other day. There is nothing wrong if you only have bowel movement every other day, even several ones on that day.
I assume you already tried daily exercise, good hydration and high fiber foods for combating chronic constipation.

Getting your gastroenterologist involved at this point would be best. Among others trialing a different laxative or a different condition causing your symptoms should be considered, all details matter in your unique context.
