If it has been years, it is not likely to grow back, no matter what it was. Squamous cell skin cancers are really common, and usually easy to treat. They usually are not brown, but scaly. It is always good to check your skin, because while an old one probably will not grow back after years, you want to watch of a new one and take care of it early.

Hello, squamous cell carcinoma typically will return especially if it was not completely excised. After years, it’s unlikely to recur. Practice xs sun avoidance and use sun screen. Your Dermatologist examinations should be regular with a skin map. Without an actual tissue diagnosis, you can’t be certain of SCC but I’m sure your surgeon would have sent tissue for pathology if a concern for SCC.
