What is drug induced hepatitis? can deltacortril cause it? i am asthmatic since childhood and took it alot on advice of doc to save life. also 1 episode of tb liver biopsy advised to me?

Some drugs can produce liver damage (hepatitis) like ethanol, isotretinoin (Retin-A) in a percentage of those who take it. Those who take an excessive amount of acetaminophen can also experience liver damage to the point of liver failure. Deltacortril, a steroid similar to hormones made by the body would not be a cause in the method you took it. Confer with your doc about meds in your history.

A virtual consult to review is available with Healthtap. Asthma medications typically do not result in liver disease. The TB liver infection though may have caused fibrosis. A liver biopsy should be discussed with your GI specialist. Watch for signs of jaundice, abdominal pain and vomiting.
