Cefixime is not preferred but it can be used and dose should be 800 mg, not 400 mg. Were you treated at the same time? If not, you should be treated. He needs to be abstained from sex at least one week and I suggest using condom for several weeks later when he is still asymptomatic. Either have him retested or request another dose of Cefixime 800 mg should be considered for your protection.
