Besides the difference in intellectual capacity, the difference is social interaction is also clearly different - Mild autism or high functioning autism: inability to relate to children or adult, poor speech or lack of speech - Social anxiety: everyday interactions cause significant anxiety, self-consciousness and embarrassment because you fear being scrutinized or judged negatively by others.
