Is it ok to take magnesium every night to improve sleep? i'm thinking of taking 200 mg as a supplement. any side effects?

Taking magnesium is unlikely to affect your sleep or health in general. If you are eating a mixed diet, you are not deficient in magnesium.
For healthy diet: http://www.choosemyplate.gov/., exercise 30 minutes/day, drink enough water daily so your urine is mostly colorless, have safe sex, no tobacco alcohol weed or street drugs.
