If i take a small piece of 0.5 of my prescription xanex every night for 14 years and stop. will i have withdrawals? or is that too small of a dose? new dr says cant prescribe it?

Agree with your new doctor, and your plan appears realistic. Xanax adversely affects stage IV sleep, and creates habituation and tolerance. Do not anticipate a true withdrawal issue.
