I got an iud placed 3 days ago, and my period is about to start. due to my job it is difficult to use pads and i have been trying to figure out if it is safe to use tampons yet. and if it is not, how long do i need to wait?

You should be able to use tampons with caution. You should be careful not to pull out the IUD rather than the tampons when doing the replacements.
