It did not kill you. Obviously, hit to the temple can kill if there a strong hit with a hard object. If you are in an auto accident, or someone assaults you and your head is traumatized than you could be killed from blunt trauma .If you fall and slip and hit your head than this type of trauma could be life threatening. A slight bump or blow to your temple is not a serious life ending event, place cold compress over area.
