Have been taking cholestyramine powder daily 4g for almost 14 years now for collagenous colitis. if i miss a dose suffer severe cramps and watery diarrhea. i am concerned about the safety of taking it daily for life and is there anything i need to do?

It is relatively safe because of no systemic absorption. People with hyperlipidemia also take it for life when they do not tolerate other medications. This medication is difficult to adhere but you have done well.
