14.5 weeks pregnant . ultrasound showed 3mm unilateral incomplete cleft lip . told palate unlikely to be involved . online seems to state opposite . is palate involvement likely ? is this a serious condition and is the cleft lip likely to grow larger?

The genetics of lip only and lip+palate are different so the do occur as separate issues. Lip clefts alone are easier to work with than lip+palate. I am sorry this has happened, but it is manageable. Many successful Hollywood actors have the lip defect. Get yourself referred to a craniofacial team that can help you understand the work ahead.

First, congratulations on your pregnancy. Second, know that a competent Cleft Team will help guide you through the appropriate diagnostic and treatment regimens. Most Childrens' Hospitals have such teams. Ask your Obstetrician to direct you to the available support teams in your area.
