Chronic lung disease: It is a good prognostic sign that your son is not decannulated. If he is dependent upon respiratory support such as oxygen, bronchodilators and respiratory treatments, he most likely has a form of chronic lung disease. Children with chronic lung disease may be at risk to develop complications from COVID-19 infection. Continue to practice measures to avoid the infection and discuss with Pediatrics

Masks, masks, masks: I presume your son is older and no longer has the trachea. The best thing to help your son and your family is for everyone to wear masks. Really...all people should wear masks...even the young ones. There is no excuse. You also need to watch where you and your family go, should you venture out. Take care.
