If your last period was 10/5 and you had conception several weeks later, you couldn't hear the fetus's heart beat by the time of US done (dopplers can’t reliably detect a baby’s heartbeat until 10-12 weeks). Menstrual irregularities are not uncommon and anovulatory cycle is a common cause. If you miss more than two periods it would be time to see your doctor. From the information you provided, you are not pregnant. Consult this site. http://www.nichd.nih.gov/health/topics/menstruation/conditioninfo/Pages/causes.aspx
