Typically, Opiate meds are only required for several days after appendectomy surgery. Longer use should be discouraged. Talk to your Dr about switching to Motrin 600mg. Once you stop using the opiates, constipation should resolve. Continue drinking 2.5 liters of fluids daily and eating a diet high in fiber. Take Mag Citrate only if you have not stooled for 2+ days.
