There are too many possible causes to know from the minimal information you provide. If you have had similar symptoms with IBS, that's obviously a likely possibility. Otherwise, contact your doctor or get seen soon. Any new or unexplained abdominal pain should be professionally evaluated. If the pain is severe, or if other symptoms like fever, blood in stools, etc, get care ASAP. Good luck.

2-3x/day for 2 days: excruciating, sharp, stabbing pain in lower left abdomen and rectum, relieved by bowel movement, passing gas or walking. Colonoscopy 1 yr ago was normal. No nausea/vomiting/fever/blood in stool. Could this be gastritis or IBS?
