Smaller areas of dermal skin loss can self repair gradually from the outside in. Large area of dermal loss often require a skin graft from other body sites to achieve adequate repair.

Given time, most smaller "ripped skin" injuries will repair themselves if kept clean and left alone. For larger and wider wounds, sutures or grafts may be necessary. You say it is urgent, so I would see an emergency room physician, surgeon, or dermatologist at your earliest convenience to determine what needs to be done.
