My obgyn no longer does breast exams during my check up stating that its no longer really necessary since i get mammos and ultrasounds. i thought the doctor was required to do it as precautionary. is that a new medical recommendation?

No that is not a new recommendation. Breast examination by your OBGYN is a mainstay in determining if there are any initial abnormalities. Of course your breast self exam monthly is also recommended.
