Have a mucocele inside lower lip over a year. it goes up & down. ent has checked it and prefers to leave it alone as it does not bother me. is salt water rinse a way to get rid of it or other method other than surgery? thank you?

Salt water rinse probably won’t help but it won’t hurt to try. Don’t know of another way unless it is small enough to cauterize ( essentially burn it .

Mucocele: Harmless but annoying minor salivary gland with blocked duct. Rx choices include surgical excision of the gland, cryotherapy, laser Rx, or simply living with it. Please see your General Dentist who the gland is swollen. Referral to Oral Surgeon may be recommended.
