Really shouldn't: You physically can, but you really shouldn't for several reasons. First, the smoking can cause irritation to the lip area and this is never good for healing. Second, the smoking reduces blood flow to the skin overall, and that definitely is not good for healing. Try to refrain for a week. If you can't give it that long, then give at least 72 hours where you are smoke/chemical free to allow healing
