Recurrent sore area roof of mouth behind teeth. too painful to eat. now labyrinthitis after having the sore. seems to be linked. could it be herpes virus? thank you?

Certainly none of this is typical for herpes. That might be a consideration if the mouth sore area has ulcers (open sores). Otherwise, I would look to other causes. Don't try to self diagnose this. See your doctor, the sooner the better -- diagnosis usually is easier and more sooner rather than later after onset of symptoms. Good luck.

You have a range of symptoms which need to be evaluated by an expert before a diagnosis can be made. Please go and see your dentist and have the problem properly evaluated. Primary Herpes can manifest as localized or generalized ulcers in the mouth, thereafter recurrence usually localized.
