If a pharmacy prepared and gave someone a liquid suspension amoxicillin to take, but the person keeps forgetting to shake the liquid bottle before each use, is this generally fine?

Probably not. In general, liquid meds need to be shaken as components can settle. Try to remember to shake your medication before taking it!

If not homogeneous the solute or the drug will tend to precipitate resulting in lower concentrations for the doses used initially.
