I'm not a fan of fad diets. I think your best bet is to consult a dietician at your local hospital who will determine your ideal weight & calculate the proper amount of daily calorie intake depending upon the level of your usual physical activity. Your eating habits will be critiqued and you'll be given sample diets.

For healthy weight loss, many variables are in play including body fat versus muscle. Others are your age, and when you last weighed 200 pounds. Is that goal truly reasonable for you? As you already know, what you eat and what you do are critical for weight loss. Cutting 3500 calories a week can result in a 1 pound weight loss each week. A good physician or nutritionist or trainer can help

The belief that simply cutting calories causes weight loss is false or everyone would lose weight easily. My father ate 500 cals/day and gained weight. Read the book "The Calorie Myth". To truly be successful, you will need to eat a high-protein diet complemented by a lot of vegetables, some fruits and a paucity of ancient grains. Eat no sugar, processed foods, flour, corn or white potatoes.

There is substitute for caloric restriction and exercise for losing weight. Joining a support group like weight watchers may help. For healthy diet: http://www.choosemyplate.gov/., exercise 30 minutes/day, drink enough water daily so your urine is mostly colorless, have safe sex, no tobacco alcohol weed or street drugs. Get HPV, Flu and Covid vaccines. Wish you good health!
