The nasal spray is relatively safe and would not be expected to directly alter sense of smell or taste. You may wish to consult an otolaryngologist regarding sinus status, and have sense of smell tested concurrently. Olfactory nerve function can also be impaired secondary to disorders at base of brain (olfactory groove), and imaging may help.
