I workout daily, or sometimes every other day. why do i see a dramatic increase or decrease in my weight on fridays, particularly? why wouldn't this increase or decrease occur overnight instead of one particular day? sometimes it's 3-4 lbs at once?

It is important to weigh yourself at the same time (preferably after waking) to eliminate variations caused by food , fluid intake, clothes. Other factors such as height and weight matter. 3-4 lbs. is a lot for a small slight person than a heavy one. See if you anything different on Friday. If it persists see your MD for a check up.
